IUS at Mantovarchitettura 2025

On May 9, 2025, IUS Assistant Professor Adi Ćorović from the Architecture Program at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FENS), International University of Sarajevo (IUS), delivered a lecture titled:
“Multicultural Heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Destruction and Restoration.”

The lecture was part of the renowned international conference "Mantovarchitettura" (12th edition), held at the Mantova Campus of the Politecnico di Milano, which holds the prestigious UNESCO Chair in Architectural Planning and Protection in Heritage Cities.

This year’s edition, themed “Architecture and Conflict,” explores the complex relationship between architecture and the impact of war and political strife. Prof. Ćorović’s presentation was featured within the thematic session titled “Beyond Destruction: Andrea Bruno’s Work in Lands of Conflict”, highlighting cases of architectural resilience, cultural identity, and heritage restoration in post-conflict environments.

"Mantovarchitettura" is a major cultural project that transforms Mantova into a Capital of Architecture every May, through a rich program of exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and dialogues with leading voices in global architectural culture. The 2025 conference runs from May 6 to June 13, with events held across iconic venues including Palazzo Ducale, Casa del Mantegna, and the Church of San Cristoforo.

IUS is proud to be part of this international platform, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on the preservation and reconstruction of architectural heritage in regions affected by conflict.
